Review on CAMEL CROWN Waterproof Lightweight Windbreaker by Michael Liguori

A bit warm for a windbreaker

I bought this jacket to replace a windbreaker that had a broken nylon zip. I've used the windbreaker as needed, including for warm showers of 55 degrees Fahrenheit and above, but it was never fit for purpose. So I wanted a jacket that could be both a windbreaker and a lightweight waterproof jacket. This one does the job, but it's designed like a parka and a bit warm for Southern California if you're a hiker like me. Also, it's not exactly "packable" as some have claimed. You can roll it up, but there's no pocket to store it and no straps to tie it so it can unfold in your bag. I went with a 2 gallon zipper and it takes up half the space inside if you make it as tight as possible. I'm 2XL so your mileage may vary. I bought a large size to wear a sweatshirt and/or fleece vest in different early morning and afternoon temperatures, especially in winter. I tried everything and it was big enough to fit whatever I wanted to wear. Because it's so waterproof, I found it too hot and sweaty to wear alone for a walk, but too hot at the moment to wear with anything absorbent. It would probably be helpful to use pit zips. Another thing I really like: the zipper has metal teeth and is covered with fabric, so that rain and wind can't get through. The design of the hood and neckline is a little over the top in my opinion, but I think if it snowed you'd be grateful. All in all worth the price but maybe too hot for some.
