I really liked this night light at first. My son loves it and still uses it. The tip isn't strong at all - I think a soda bottle. It's very easy to break for little kids. It didn't break, but it bent badly, and while we were able to reattach it, some stars now have lines caused by the folded plastic. The other day a child found it and broke it for the third time. I just don't understand why when the base is so strong it never occurred to anyone that the top should be the same. That doesn't mean we haven't figured out how to make thicker translucent plastic yet. Also, for some reason the blue color isn't very light anymore. I don't mind, the lighter color is probably better for sleeping, but it looks very washed out for reasons I can't figure out. And as other users have pointed out, the light is best focused when you use red, which is pretty bright at night, but blue used to overshadow it when it was new.
