My 8 year old daughter wore this to the 50's dance at school. I bought 9-10 instead of 7-8 because she is bigger for her age. She is built like a green bean (tall and skinny) and a size 9-10 fits her. There was room at the waist and it didn't fit her body tightly, but it didn't look too big either.
