I bought these to convert a nightgown with buttons down the front to buttons, not for easy access to feed a newborn a few days later. The color choice of the snaps allowed me to find the perfect match with the print on the nightgown. The clasps were easy to assemble. Once you click on the YouTube tutorial. The attached picture instructions show how to trim off the protruding ends of the latch covers, but when I did this during a test run, the latch didn't stay together at all. After watching a quick tutorial on YouTube (I was only looking for a tutorial on plastic snaps) I checked again and did NOT cut the pin and it worked great. The attached picture guide also included a compression insert where you peel off the clear rubber to press on the fork end. You don't have to do this, it works great if the bumper stays on. So it's very easy to install if you're NOT following the instructions that come with it, but instead are following someone else's instructions. I have included a picture of the thickness of the folded material I went through and the fasteners in the kit worked well and held in place. After installation, I checked each latch and tightened those that were a little loose. Once I figured out how to successfully install the entire project, only 7 snapshots, everything went very quickly. I cut off the buttons and poked holes with an awl where the needle and thread for the buttons were. Then I attached all the latches to this side (below). Then I placed the button covers in the center of each buttonhole on the top and installed the buttons. Button caps fit perfectly into the buttonholes. I thought they might slip into the buttonholes, but they don't. nice and tight. I am very happy with the result and can't wait to wear my new custom made nursing nightgown.
