I bought this along with a DigiGear SD adapter to use in an iPod with a failed hard drive. With these adapters and a 32GB SDHC card, the iPod was able to recognize and mount the storage, but trying to get the iPod to actually read anything from the newly found storage was futile - all audio files and games simply refused to play and gave an error. , or reset the iPod. Every time the iPod restarted, it lost all its settings. The problem with this procedure is that it introduces three unknowns into the "entire" Apple system, so it's hard to tell if the problem is the SD card, the SD>CF adapter, or the CF>ZIF adapter is. Flash memory in an iPod with a hard drive" turned out to be a nuisance. My advice is to just bite the bullet and pay for one of the overpriced Apple iPods with flash memory or buy another hard drive instead of spending time with wasting this adapter.
