These curtains do an amazing job of blocking out all the lights from the neighbors and the street. They are not terribly heavy, but are absolutely opaque. I hung them on the poles opposite the normal way, with the right and left edges at the front, so they lay flush against the sides of the window and no light comes in at all. Honestly! No light comes through now. I am surprised at how very well they work.The only drawback is that they are much longer than I need, but I can hem them up. This is easily outweighed by the great value and the amazingly good job they do.
