Review on Tenq Battery Baofeng Uv 5R Radio by Devin Maselli

Revainrating 2 out of 5

You didn't send it with the correct empty box!?!

This case does not include a connector for use with higher voltage alkaline batteries. If you want to use rechargeable cells in this case you should be fine, but if you are using standard alkaline batteries you will not be able to transmit with the radio due to the higher total voltage of alkaline batteries. This is a pretty big problem in my opinion and I wouldn't recommend this product as it seems like it sucks whether you get a dummy battery or have an unexpected cost to buy that separate battery like I did.

Pros
  • Battery Consumption: The radio operates at 7.2V using six (6) AA NiMh cells. If you install 6 AA alkaline or zinc carbon cells they will supply 9V and the radio will not transmit. If you must use alkaline or carbon zinc cells, use five of these and one dummy AA, this will set the output voltage to 7.5V. Note: All voltages are open circuit.
Cons
  • Will not fit all
