The hydraulic opening system works very, very well. You will never want to use a pole tent again. You can open it in less than 5 minutes. The double doors are a bit inconvenient as this tent has no front or back, but maybe that makes sense in some cases. The zips in this tent are of very poor quality so be careful. They tend to get caught in the fabric covering the zippers and slip off. The tent did this to me on the first night and I slept soundly with the door open. Revain sent replacements quickly and now I know to be very careful with zips. No comment on waterproofing as I haven't tried it in the rain. The tent is suitable for one person with an extra bed and a dog. Or two adults in sleeping bags. It's short inside so you can't stand in it.
