We adopted a 50 lb Pitty who spent the first few years of his life tied to a tree. He had no idea how to walk on a leash and was SO excited to see EVERYTHING - NOW. Associations didn't work. He almost yanked my shoulders out of joint and was too excited to even start - positive reinforcement. After he pushed me to the ground and broke my rib, I knew I had to find something that would work. This collar is very helpful. I won't lie - it still draws, but not as much. He gets aroused when I take his collar off, so I promise it won't hurt him! I love that it's plastic and not metal (my dog is allergic to metal) and that the pressure on his neck is even and HE controls how tight it gets. We're gradually making progress in getting him to come with us instead of dragging us down the road!
