EXPERIENCE IS SIMILAR TO OTHER RECENT REVIEWS: Although it's up to 17 pounds. The manipulator failed on a 13 lb monitor in 10 minutes. Adjusting the gas pressure did not help. When it failed, it was a complete failure. I see that others have reported this issue recently, while positive reviews tend to be older. Maybe something has changed in production. This might also explain why the three bar mounting holes weren't machined properly - I had to put a deep nut on the hex to add leverage and spent a good hour twisting, going back and twisting again to get the three bolts to get. far enough to secure the mount. Basically I made the holes myself and turned hard enough to be afraid the screws would loosen or break. This item was just poorly made.
