I've been looking for an average MP3 player and I think "average" is around $75. The buttons dangle and rattle when moved, but not enough to fall out. The sound quality is fantastic and pretty solid despite the rattling. I carry it outside in my gym bag and after a few months it hasn't broken. Two things are strange. First, there's the randomization of the song: it's actually random. I've heard the same song several times in a row. Also, sometimes the same song is repeated two or three songs later. I usually expect there to be a "no repeat" algorithm for things like this, but it doesn't matter. Just click "Skip" and continue. Secondly, if there is a strong shock, the device actually turns itself off and on again. It "jumps" just like before CD players. I ran on the treadmill with the machine in the front tray and after a few minutes it shut off and then restarted. I solved the problem by wearing it while running, but I found it really odd for an MP3 player that was supposedly designed for exercise use. I doubt anyone would get in trouble wearing it over a training bracelet. For the price and great sound quality, I'm willing to put up with a few minor inconveniences. I think it will last me at least a few years.
