We bought this speaker for our daughter for her birthday. She immediately noticed and appreciated the headlights up front. It's light enough for a 5 year old and can be charged so I don't have to run around making sure it's off. The Bluetooth feature is great, so I can help her select and switch music without being tied to the speaker. We rarely adjust any of the volume options on the side, but an advanced user might want to add additional mics or effects. In general, the sound quality is good for children to hear and sing, but not very suitable for a large hall or real public address system. The microphone is sensitive and works well, but it's better for small-room karaoke than anything else. Both the microphone and the speaker have been subjected to heavy use and accidental drops by children, and still work normally. I had to take the mic apart (no tools required - you can unscrew the top) and reset the power button after a couple of particularly hard drops, but it still works. We had a blast watching the kids use it and appreciate the fact that they can easily take it to another room when we've heard enough. fun overall.
