I'm concerned about the plastic but it's good quality and will hold up well. The clips are well designed so they hold well without damaging the fabric. They have a great alligator head design so the clip is open when the back is up. You fasten the clip to fabric or tape (my comforter had a strong, straight loop diagonally across the corners for fastening), and then snap the clip onto the back of the alligator's head to keep its jaw closed. I went ahead and started doing all the work. only to find that my duvet cover already had threads in it. Unbelievable. These are high quality so I was surprised at the lack of a lace up closure but they were so tight around the corners I couldn't find them. Anyway I'm still giving this a 5 because I'm keeping it and (except for the leaf fasteners which I don't need and that's why I bought them) I've tried everything and it works really well. The bands are durable and fun to work with. So if you are interested in a needle/ribbon combo, don't hesitate. Not a dime was spared on flimsy needles or fasteners. I think someone could still use this if they have arthritic fingers or grip issues, but not necessarily. I really think it's easy enough for everyone from high schoolers (or younger if they have common sense and a bit of dexterity) to seniors. Make a duvet cover years ago. This is a great invention that would save a lot of work. I bought them because I didn't want to waste time sewing and also because something was invented that I don't need!
