My 10 year old son loves these gloves and likes to play with them. They glow brightly and have multiple lighting settings that can be selected via a hidden button on the back of the gloves. The material of the gloves is a wool-like material. They make a great addition to a costume or as a pretty toy to play with in the dark. They definitely won't offer much protection from frost. The only real downside, aside from not being for adults, is that the small buttoned battery compartment is a tough spot on the back of the gloves. The wires that run through each finger are invisible and uncomfortable for my child. I got them as compensation for my honest opinion, but for $10 I'd consider buying another pair.
