I bought this lamp because in my new house there is no room for a bedside table to put a regular lamp on. I usually turn on the yellow light because I like to read before bed. So far, the light charges quickly and the charge lasts for a very long time. I even left it on for a few hours (day mode) and it worked for many more hours. I bought two book lamps thinking I could use one when the other needed a charge or use both when hiking (trailers). I can't comment on the clip as I mostly have it standing on four legs (bumps) on a small stand next to my bed. I noticed that the clip has a part that moves, so the clip has two flat surfaces in relation to the book, table, etc.
