I have used it as a sunscreen, cloak and many other things. It's a decent thickness and feels solid, with well-stitched tongues and stitching around the edges. One side has a more waterproof/resistant coating. I didn't test it in extreme situations, but for everyday use at home it was great. It folds easily and still fits in your pocket, even with many different folds (a perfect card fold is not required). maybe even pile it all up and put it in a very dirty bag and close the bag anyway. That's a real plus if, for whatever reason, you want to pack it up quickly and without much effort.
