Post-surgical relief

I bought this bra post-lumpectomy and bilateral reduction, and it was such a welcome relief as my incisions healed. I was a 36DD before the surgery, 5'7" with an average-length torso, and I ordered the XL of this bra, which worked well for me. The length of the shoulder straps (set at their longest) allowed me to pull it down far enough that the band sat below my incisions, not on them (which was a problem with the non-adjustable Fruit of the Loom front-close bra.) The band is just rigid enough that it stays flat and in place. The wide cut of the arm holes means that the bra is not touching the incision where they took the lymph nodes at all. The fabric is soft and smooth, and the cutout hole in the racerback makes it feel much lighter and more comfortable. When I am fully healed, the XL will likely be a little gappy, although there is about 1.5" between the biggest and smallest set of hooks (4 sets), so it can go much tighter. But at less than 2 weeks post-surgery, it is a welcome relief from the other 2 surgical bras. It does not feel not itchy, burny or binding, and I can actually conceive of wearing it for the full recovery period.

Pros
  • 8.66 x 0.47 x 0.39 inches; 2.82 Ounces
Cons
  • The sports bra may not provide enough lift for sagging breasts
