Great lightbulb! It shines just as brightly as an old halogen lamp, but doesn't get as hot and uses less energy. My range hood actually burned the outlet due to the heat from the halogen bulb, so I feel safer installing it instead. However, there are 2 pitfalls. Unfortunately, the flat surface of these LED lamps is textured. I'm not sure why they did it. This makes it impossible to remove the lamp with a conventional vacuum gripper. However, with my range hood, I was able to solve this problem simply by reaching out from the side after removing the cover that leads to the fan filter, giving access to the lamp. In addition, these LED bulbs flicker when dimmed. While they can be dimmed, like all LED lights they will flash quickly. Unfortunately, this bulb's flashing speed is not fast enough to become invisible. Instead, it looks like a strobe light. It can be annoying. I turn the lights up to full brightness when I use them, so it doesn't bother me, but it's very noticeable compared to the old halogen bulbs. However, considering these two flaws, they are still good lamps. Hope they last long.
