We had just moved to Pennsylvania from California so boots were on our need list for colder weather. My son is 7 years old and still can't tie his laces well so I wanted good walking shoes that didn't require tying and were comfortable. First, my son has a wide foot. He's actually most comfortable in Stride Rite's wide-leg pants, but regular wide-leg pants work just as well. I always get nervous before buying shoes because of his wide feet. They gave him plenty of room and his foot still felt good at the end of the day after wearing for over 12 hours! He liked the design and the style. He could also put them on without any problems. The only issue we had was the cheap laces. I have two different pairs and the laces on both pairs snapped (or snapped) within two months. We placed the laces and so far there have been no more problems. The boots have held up well in both snow and rain. My son has never complained about cold or wet feet.
