I love these shorts. They are the perfect length for big hips and are also very comfortable. The drawstring waist makes them comfortable for me otherwise they would be too big. I'm 5'4 and 220 pounds with a 44 waist and 50 hips. I ordered 3x just to be safe. I suspect 2x would have worked but they seem more appropriate for my age. By the way, the gray color is not a nice dark anthracite, as can be seen in the picture, but a lighter color. By the way, there is a pocket in the gusset in which you can put a day pad if you wish.
