Review on Nintendo Switch Wireless Battle Pad: Mario Gamecube ๐ŸŽฎ Style Controller for Ultimate Gaming Experience on Nintendo Switch by Jennifer Dunn

Wouldn't buy again

This controller has a lot going for it. The actuators on the buttons are nice and the design of the controller is very comfortable in an adult's hands. I'm taking off three stars because there are three big issues for me. After a month of use, the left stick got stuck at a downward tilt. I play Super Smash Bros mostly, and I play very occasionally. What I mean is that I don't push the stick in any direction with excessive force and I don't take my aggression out on the controller. The left joystick just doesn't work properly anymore. The next problem is that the controller cannot be updated or calibrated. If I could calibrate the left joystick it would fix the first issue. When you plug this controller into the Switch, it will register as a professional controller, not a GameCube controller. If you try to search the Hori website for support for this controller, there are no support listings for the model number NSW-273 of this controller. The last problem is that the controller doesn't support accelerometer or gyroscope even though the list says "Yes". I decided to buy this GameCube controller from Hori because it's one of the few rechargeable GameCube controllers I can find, which was a major selling point for me. A month later I went back to the main use of my professional controller and just gave it to my kids. It's a really good controller, but it definitely needs more quality control.
