I bought two of these - one for an 8 month old boy and one for a 15 month old girl - both were successful. We have given the little boy two levels so that he can easily reach the top level while sitting. He had the "idea" after just looking at us a couple of times, and was soon clapping to himself as the ball appeared in the bottom cup. He also just liked balls. Each sphere has a different interior design. The only issue we had was a 15 month old trying to move it by lifting it off the top level and it fell apart. There's a small grove when connected, so the levels line up and help is needed to piece it together. But it makes it easier to keep in the bin.
