These bags are the best travel vacuum compression bags currently available. I've bought almost every brand of compression bags and found all others to be lacking. Every other brand's design includes a zipper or two on one end of the bag and a one-way valve. at the opposite end. They are all made of thin plastic, similar to polyethylene. Invariably, either the seal or pouch breaks easily and either leaks right out of the box or will after a few uses. These Travelon bags have a completely different design. They are made of a thicker, softer plastic and are sealed based on a self-adhesive area at one end of the bag that forms a 4 inch wide self-sealing area. You simply squeeze the two sides of the bag together, forming an airtight seal. The one-way valve at the other end has a similar swing-out design as standard, but also has the same self-sealing characteristic. I had a couple of sweaters and jackets sealed a week before the trip and found no leaks. at all during this time. I then went on a 4 week journey, printing and sealing the back every 3-5 days with no drop in performance. If you've previously found compression bags useful but were disappointed with their actual performance, I recommend these bugs.
