Does the job inexpensively; UPDATE

Updated Winter has been over, and my crampons didn't last the winter! They kept sliding sideways, and 2 clips broke on them. I will not buy these again but will pony-up the money to get a really good pair, probably 40+ bucks more than these, but if they work, and I get more than one winter out of them.*********Initial review:On the plus side, I like the price, they do not feel much different as I walk on them (compared to not having them on), I didn't even begin to slip even once on solid ice in my driveway, they are easy to put on and the heel strap is a nice additional feature over the previous pair I owned. On the negative side, the "eye" through which the Velcro strap goes broke through the second time I wore them. (But I was able to slip it through the main skeleton and tighten it anyway). Also, the fact that the tightening strap is facing the right on BOTH crampons is a hassle. On the Left shoe I can lift my foot toward the center, slip the strap through the eye and tighten it. On the right one I have to lift my foot to the outside making it very awkward to "lace" it and then pull it tight. I am 72 and overweight. For young, flexible, fit people this should not be a problem. They kept coming off, so I had to use some small bungee cords to modify design. I would not buy these again for any price. Plan to buy a new pair for next year, probably from LL Bean. A case of "you get what you pay for."
