In general it is like this.
When I opened the balloon for the first time, it smelled strongly of chemicals. I just left the ball outside for a few days and the smell dissipated. The paint on the ball also wore off a bit when I cleaned it, but not enough to make a big difference. In general the ball is what it is and my daughter likes it.
