Smaller than expected. The Lycra lining is a little deceptive black on black. The spandex portion covers to my knees the short portion goes down 3/4 of my thigh. I was thinking they were more like basketball type shorts. I would probably get a larger size as these are a little tight on me. I am 6'1" and 210 and got the large because my waist size fit in the large category on the chart. I got them to work out in so I guess it's a little motivation to get them to fit better.
