This is not against Kaytee (I have all Kaytee's), but against hamster balls in general. I've only had my dwarf hummy walk the carpet a few times, and each time she fell into a comatose haze. I think she got a concussion crashing into the couch :( I was so scared and sick in my stomach that she hurt herself. If you don't throw the ball to a field or a really wide space with no boundaries , they will hit anything, even a soft couch and that bump seems like enough to give you a concussion. They are just fluffy and fluffy! They are so soft! I did a little research and it turned out that many Veterinarians and owners are absolutely against hamster balls As they are unnatural, potentially very dangerous and hamsters just want to get away I have kept mine for emergencies - if I ever need to take them away right away - but other than that I never use them.Just info for new owners .
