I have 4 dachshunds of various shapes ranging from 11 to 20 pounds. 3 of them can wear small, and the largest bust need medium. Chest girth was most important for my dogs because they have larger quill bones than other dogs. The back circumference of my dogs will always be short. The jacket was exactly as described. The neck and chest measurements given are exactly as described. We've washed it several times and it still fits like day one! It's also nice when they go out in the rain and we just have to wipe their fur, head and paws. Amazing water resistance.
