38 waist and wear 40 or 42 depending on belt manufacturer, took a risk and ordered 42 and it was too big and almost on the last hole. I exchanged it for 40 and am waiting for it to arrive, everything should be fine. Order one size larger than your waist to attach the buckle in the center hole, you will love the camouflage and leather color of this belt. True photo!
