Direct on/off LED lamp, easy to use, continuously adjustable in width. The mount is absolutely silent. Until it buzzes, it doesn't flicker. The hue of the lighting seems perfect for the freshwater aquarium owner to "see the fish”. Reasonable prices were the main advantage. What I can't say is whether the lighting is intense enough to support the variety of living plants found in aquariums. After two months the floating duckweed in my tank was basically "dead" as this light was on 12 hours a day. Is the light bright enough? Water analyzes showed no significant change in pH or alkalinity. Perhaps there is not enough light for the pond "duckweed"? I was hoping the duckweed would grow and be used as a food/treat for street koi. If you're working with live plants, might you want to consider a more sophisticated contraption (and perhaps more expensive?)?
