Velvet Nap MUST be in the same direction front and back!

This garment is made from a beautiful fabric BUT the velvet pile has to run in the same direction front and back! This requires a straight seam across the shoulder and down the center of the sleeve, meaning it has to be made from two pieces of fabric. Crafted from a single piece of fabric, the back is gorgeous with shimmer and lots of colour, and the pile runs from shoulder to hem and vice versa on the front! This means that the front only looks black with no shimmer or color. If the front only looks black, it defeats the purpose of the kimono. I would gladly pay a few bucks more for a decent build and front and back. I bought another one that was being sold as a beach cape with a vintage art deco design. It's made from two pieces of material so the pattern is the same front and back, and has the aforementioned seam along the center sleeve and shoulder. It also features a finished hem at the front and around the neckline, which consists of part of the fabric pattern running down the hem for added quality. This garment was significantly smaller than the faded velvet kimono, but not as elegant as the desired velvet trim I had bought for a formal occasion. Very disappointed with the faded velvet kimono and will be back.
