Attention two-tone coating of the lid: brushed metal instead of plastic

product as described, arrived quickly. It's my own fault for not looking closely enough at the picture - I thought it all had a matte metal finish. I guess what I don't understand is what's the point of having a trash can and just making the rotating part of the lid out of polished metal while the rest of the lid looks like flat/matte plastic. The tone isn't quite the same either, so the difference is much clearer in person than in the photo in the product listing. The sleek metallic look would be complete if the entire set had a finish, but honestly the flat part makes it pretty obvious from a distance that it's plastic. Also confused as to why the brushed pattern is horizontal on the trash can and vertical on the rocker cover, it looks a bit odd. Otherwise everything is functional. I needed trash cans in the bathrooms that my dogs couldn't get in. I'm not entirely sure if they could still get their heads in the swing lid because I had it facing the toilet so they couldn't. It doesn't discourage me enough to go back, but I'd think twice about even understanding these features.

Pros
  • practical article
Cons
  • so far so good
