These coasters are very advantageous. You get plenty of coasters in a holder that fits comfortably under a coffee table to save space. This way you not only avoid stains on the wooden tables with rings, but also save space on the countertop. Plus, they tolerate condensation just as well as a cork in an old wine bottle. But they have one thing in common: Almost nothing can remove deep port-wine stains from coasters. Of course, given the material, there wasn't much the manufacturer could do about it. However, this appears to be a real danger if you're using it for drinking. The one I painted over is at the bottom of my stack. There are many of them to hide the unfortunate ones injured in the line of duty. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
