I am 5ft 3cm and weigh over 200lbs and bought the extra large size. I'm impressed with the material. It was stretchy but still able to hold everything in place. It's like wearing waist trainers but without the buckles and zippers. I could see the difference when wearing a dress. I even washed it just to see if there was any change in its fit.
