As a novice runner who's only been running for 8 months (and that's after 19 years without running since high school), I'm familiar with just about every nuisance of running. Most of my problems stem from being all or nothing and running from sofa to half marathon in 2:12 in exactly 6 months. It's probably not the smartest way to start running, but I wanted to do it and I did it. Basically to shut up all my non-running friends who said I couldn't run a 5k, let alone a half marathon. Spring. enough of it. Now let's talk about the product. My amazing wife bought it for me because I don't need it to get rid of my post run and weekend pain. I have a large foam roller and a larger smooth roller that I use for my feet, which is usually where all my running pains lie. Well, in the last few weeks I've had 5,000 and 10,000 PR and I've been breaking PR after PR. Because of all that extra exertion, I've developed plantar fasciitis in one foot, making my runs less comfortable. Well, she must have read my mind because I haven't told anyone about the pain in my legs. She ended up buying me this ball for Christmas at the local Fleet Feet store. To be honest if I had known they existed I would have bought them 2 weeks ago. Rschunimagu. When I opened the gift and saw what it was, I immediately took it out of the packaging and started rolling it with my foot. After about 20 minutes of driving, the tension and pain in the leg disappeared. And he was gone all day. I've been battling this pain for over 2 weeks now and this little ball stopped it in 20 minutes. I never thought of looking for those little balls and I'm glad she found them after talking to some of her fellow runners. This thing worked for me almost immediately and I've used it on my other non-painful leg and it's amazingly easy to use on the whole leg. This will be part of my foam spider from now on. And to be honest, it's probably the first thing I do every day when I get home from work. It's small (a bit bigger than a golf ball) but I think that's the best part. Because it is so small, it fits very snugly and deep in the arch of the foot. I think the studs on it do the magic. They feel really great. Even though it's so small it fits in my race bag so I can take it with me for 5km etc. It can easily be carried in a purse, gym bag or even in my pocket. I think anyone who just has tired or sore feet after working all day will really like them. And especially a runner with plantar fasciitis.
