Review on LG Electronics 27GN750 B Compatibility Adjustable 1920X1080P, 240Hz, Blue Light Filter by Matthew Harrison

The fastest IPS I've ever tried!

I'm a big fan of LG products. I currently have an LG 27GL850-B as my primary display (1440p IPS 144Hz) and have just picked this 240Hz as my competitor display. (I play OW at a high level, which is usually very fast. I have 3900x and 2080ti which can handle 240 frames without dropping). Keep both monitors LG and 27in. My previous 240Hz was an Asus PG258Q and wow this display puts it to shame. Colors alone are way ahead of TN panels, better viewing angles, etc. I've seen a few people complain that 27 inches and 1080p isn't the best combo in terms of pixel density or visual grainy/broken lines when rendering. I personally think it looks ok. You don't really buy a 240Hz monitor for the graphics quality, you buy it solely for the competitive gaming performance and generally at low gaming settings. You can always turn up the anti-aliasing in-game if it bothers you that much. The native 240Hz refresh rate paired with a fast or faster response time in the settings works great (I use fast), I don't notice any blurring or streaks. My only problem is that it stutters now and then at the moment (this can be for various reasons), I think it's my DP cable or that there isn't a driver update for this monitor yet as it's only the first week is of the monitor was available for purchase. My 27gl850 works fine so I don't have to worry about waiting for a driver for it. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and definitely a fan of LG for upgrading their Nano IPS to higher refresh rates.

Pros
  • My son was happy with the screen
Cons
  • Low refresh rate
