Bought for hiking trails with a lot of movement which means bumpy slick ice and they work well. Two minor issues: (a) They come with Velcro to connect the rubber sides and attach them to the laces of the boot's upper. For a size L, the velcro isn't long enough to easily do this without stretching the rubber side panels quite a bit. (b) the cleats are under the boots and can be flipped/flipped - I'd like some cleats on the edges of the sides of the boot. I wouldn't wear them for walking in an ice cave but they are very good for general hiking.
