These headphones are a great price! They have style and a GREAT deep sound. Wood definitely produces the best sound I've ever heard. The drums have that "clicky" mid-range bass that you can feel in person and that's typically absent from headphones at this price point. Bass guitars in these headphones sound like they should. I agree with most that they sound a bit muddy at first, but as the driver works the sound gets better. I found what the other reviewer said to be true as the highs were slightly muted and I did the same as him and removed the foam. Now they sound even better. It was very easy to do, it only took 5 minutes. Don't worry, the "L" and "R" fabric is attached to the ear pads so they look the same as before. See photos. All round these headphones are very solid and look like they are much higher than the price paid.
