I used to feed my dogs Sophie and Rufus prescription dry food, putting one capsule each in the pill pouch just before feeding each day (dosage needs to be adjusted based on the dog's weight and size). worked wonders. One of my pets, Sophie, had constant problems with diarrhea (she had Cushing's, then Addison's) and Gentle Digest worked wonders for days with no diarrhea. As my dogs got older and needed a softer diet, I switched to a prescription wet food (canned) and first opened the capsules, dispensing the contents and stirring to make sure they ate it. It worked for Sophie as she would eat anything but Rufus still needs a pill bag as he is a picky eater. Now that Sophie is gone and Rufus is 15, he's basically getting a vet approved canned food mixed in with a small amount of dry food (Science Diet Youthful Vitality) and I just add him the entire capsule that came with it. and stir to hide the capsule and he eats it all. I don't need any more pill bags and Rufus has turned his back on them anyway. His stool is shaped and he is regular. We have not experienced gas in any of the dogs with it. I highly recommend this product. It has been present in our dogs daily diet for more than 5 years and will continue to be.
