First, I'm not a professional or even amateur photographer. I still use my old Nikon N40 35mm but at a recent family gathering the younger kids teased me about my old camera. The only "digital” I have is my cell phone. So, it's time for an upgrade. After much research I almost bought a Canon point and shoot, but on a trip to Costco I saw the Fuji s1000 and I really liked it. When I checked the Revain price I found the s2000hd and for $50 decided to buy it. Today's photos and videos of the first day have exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind that I'm no pro, but all the menus are intuitive and the settings are easy to learn. I spent a few hours reading the manual and testing things. After that I printed out 2 pages "camera display" and "mode selector" from the manual (which is on the CD) so I have something to refer to when walking around the area taking photos . For those who said they would like a hard copy user guide - if you have the CD you can ONLY print out the 2 or 3 pages you need. Save the tree. This is a great camera for those who want more than just aim and shoot, but don't want a high-end DSLR. Taking great photos and videos is easy. I love the macro zoom - my roses have never looked so beautiful - crisp, clear and vibrant colors. It sucked the batteries at first, but I just tried ALL the settings and features. Once I settled down and understood how everything works, I was able to take a couple of hundred photos and 2 videos with a set of rechargeable batteries (buy a quick charger and several AA sets). So far I'm really enjoying this wonderful little camera. .
