Bargain backpacks

backpack without frame. Alone it weighs 2.76 pounds. For less than $40.00 this is GREAT for those just starting out or just driving for the weekend. I think it's really good value for what you get. This is a good option for budget gear. This backpack was used on a 22 mile (2 day) hike. To be honest we walked about 3 miles the first day and set up camp. I weighed 37 pounds (including 4 liters of water and 2 bags of the equivalent of 2 bottles of wine!). The package has held up well. There was a lot of weight on my back and I felt very uncomfortable. I had a small backpack with me for the remaining 7 miles. The next day the backpack weighed 27 pounds plus 2 liters of water. We walked 10.8 miles. I made sure it was adjusted at my hips to support the weight there. There are no cargo straps, so no matter how hard I tried, my back still suffered. The trapezius muscles hurt towards the end. The backpack has a fairly spacious main compartment. Although I had to tie my tent outside because I didn't fit well in the backpack. Below is space for a sleeping bag, it has its own compartment. The backpack has hip pockets for snacks. I want them to get bigger. You can't put much in there. There are two side pockets. They're pretty uncomfortable and I wouldn't store water in them. There is a front pocket large enough to hold a 2 liter water tank. The backpack also has a whistle buckle. There is also a rain cover. He has some good carabiner straps. Overall I have to say this is a good backpack for the price. If you have a burning trip when your friends suddenly thought "Let's go camping!" and you don't want to spend much, this is a good option. Don't load it up with a lot. I think 37-40 pounds pushes him. My back was killing me. But if it's less than 30 pounds, it will work. I wish it had bigger hip pockets, maybe a few extra pockets for easy access to small items. But it worked fine.
