I bought this because where I live most of the year it is hot and I want to transport my cat safely. I also bought it because it's cute. The fan and light require an external power supply. So add at least $12 to the bag's price if you need these features. The fan is also a big disappointment and doesn't have an on/off switch, so it has to be unplugged from the external power supply to turn it off. Air doesn't flow much even at altitude and the interior is black, so I think the fan is more of a gimmick than a functional item. A carrier bag with a lighter color on the inside would be better to keep the cat cooler. Other totes also have an expandable mesh back, so while this tote is slightly larger on the inside, it's not ideal for longer trips. I was hesitant about sending it back, my cat likes a different, cheaper, side entry one.
