The plastic is thinner than the old screw
In my opinion, the old ScrewPull corkscrews were the best of the bunch. the teflon-coated metal corkscrew was the thinnest and slipped into the cork. But "Creuset" has thinner plastic that can break (see photo) and they also lowered the price and no longer ship the stand.
