I have used Canon's small cameras (ELPHS and SureShots) extensively for at least 15 years for thousands of holiday and family photos in a variety of settings. Since cameras and mobile phones keep falling on me, I decided on the "unbreakable" Olympus 850SW. Well, I might as well not leave him; I can THROW it in anything after two months of use. (1) No battery life. I almost never had to charge any of my guns; would run, for example, two days of continuous shooting on vacation. The battery of this Olympus will be dead in half an hour. (2) The memory card, as mentioned, is unusual. It turns out I really get annoyed when I have to lug around extra cables, etc. (3) Despite having over 20 special settings, I couldn't get a single decent image at an indoor fashion show with either all settings or normal mode. Automatic mode - nothing. Again, this is pathetic compared to the long list of canons I had. I never had to worry about focusing with a Canon. This camera looks cool and could be immortal; it's just not a good CAMERA.
