After five years of dedicated service, my favorite pair of house slippers had more than reached the end of their life. With a heavy heart I committed them to the rubbish bin and cast about for a replacement. After quite a bit of digging around I decided upon these slippers.Thus far I'm very happy with the choice, and believe I'll come to like them even more than my old ones! My last pair of slippers were also thong style but didn't fit as snugly around the side of my feet as these do. As I walk, they stay in place and don't flop around and make a lot of noise. The band is thick on the sides and narrow and taut where it comes together at the toes for a great fit.I wear house slippers religiously. Both of my feet have been fractured in the past and I have hardwood floors. If hiking boots were easy to slip on and off I'd never wear anything else, but I need to be able to get up from my desk and quickly slip on something cushy, yet won't get my feet all sweaty. These slippers are totally fitting the bill.Additionally, I really like the look of these. I didn't want something that would look like what I'd expect my mom or grandmother to wear to get a pedicure - you know, something furry and flimsy that would meet its demise in the claws of a cat, or it's first spin in the washer. I needed something simple and functional but durable enough for daily wear.I'm not sure how long the foam in the soles will remain cushy. Time will tell, but for the price and for the amount I will use these I am confident that I'll more than get my money's worth.A note on sizing:My shoe size is usually 8.5-9, so I went with the 9-10. They're just slightly smaller than expected, but as the seller said, they do stretch out a little bit over time. They fit like a glove for me. However, if you're a size 9.5-10 I suspect that the 9-10 might not be long enough.
