Review on Signature Design Ashley Mayda Comforter by Ashley Ray

UPDATE: My original two stars have been upgraded to four! This duvet has been on our bed for a few weeks now and it's amazing! Once I've managed to get rid of the awful smell (thanks Febreze), this is without a doubt the best duvet we've ever had. It fits our bed perfectly and its weight is just right - not too heavy and not too light. It keeps us warm at night without overheating. It's just super cozy! I'm still not thrilled that it isn't tumble dryable (that's why I can't give it 5 stars), but that's the only downside. I love this comforter so much I'm buying a second one as a spare. As I haven't read any of the reviews of anyone else having a bad smell problem out of the box, I'm hoping my blanket was a one off and a second blanket doesn't have the same problem. This blanket is so beautiful that I'm willing to take a chance. And just in case, I still have a Frebreze! had a terrible smell and even though the duvet itself was zipped in a typical plastic bag that comes with duvets, somehow the smell still got into the duvet. I love the comforter so much that I decided not to return it and instead tried spraying it with Febreze and letting it air out overnight. To my dismay, the awful smell is still there. Another downside to this duvet that I wasn't aware of when I bought it is that while it's machine washable, the care instructions say NOT to tumble dry. The? October so weather here is cool, cloudy and rainy so drying clothes after washing is not an option so now I have a new blanket that smells so bad I won't put it on our bed. Even though this blanket looks very nice and is a decent weight, I don't recommend it due to the smell and the impossibility to tumble dry it.
