The original lamp on my 5050UB died after 177 hours, I went to the Epson website and they said that the factory lamp was out of stock. I ordered it, fast delivery. I installed it immediately and turned on the projector in my room with the curtain open about 12 inches, which is what I usually do during the day. Well, the picture was barely visible, it was as bright as possible with the factory bulb, not this lamp. I keep the projector on Bright Cinema, with this lamp even at night I had to adjust the image to brighten it up significantly. I sent it back, followed the link on the Epson website, and ordered a factory original for only $40. This is a good lamp, but it does NOT work like the original!
