I was hoping they would bolt this on and do some pilot and idle adjustments but no such luck. When I turned on the supply after installation, gas started leaking immediately. Took it apart and noticed that the float and float valve do not move freely. Made a few minor adjustments to free it up and then restored the lift level to service spec with calipers. No more leaks but then found that the engine would not rev; It will only be idling and reasonably smooth, but will seize with every increase in throttle no matter how slow/fast it is applied. Disassembled again and compared the main jet and needle with the originals. MUCH smaller main jet and larger needle diameter. Replaced both with the ones in my original carburetor and now it works quite well. There seems to be a lack of an upper limit, but probably only because the throat of this carburettor is about half the size of the original, so that the full power of the 225 engine is probably not possible with this carburettor. I am using it at the moment as it mostly works with my old jet and needle but will be looking for parts to rebuild the original Mikuni carburetor to restore full performance.
