Very warm socks of the highest quality. Not bulky but comfortable. 70 percent merino wool is very comfortable. damp when your feet sweat profusely but you are not cold. They absorb moisture well. This winter I wore them outside in temperatures below zero to 60 degrees. Your legs don't tire as quickly. They also hold up to washing, but I wash in cold water with Costco detergent instead of Tide, apply detergent lightly and tumble dry on a gentle cycle. Do this and the fabric will not curl up. When wet, they air dry due to the open weave. I bought a lot of pairs because I like to change my socks twice a day. Nice to have 2 colors in the package, brown and black. I think they seem to last longer if you change them frequently. No cotton in these socks, think cotton kills, these are really good socks for 6 inch Timberland or LL Bean boots. Not a very tall boot sock, although more of a crew sock or slightly larger. They stay on my calves and don't sag. Pay attention to the price, it fluctuates a lot.
