This mat fits very well on my two cats' litter boxes. A rug houses TWO kitty litters so I expected there would still be some dirt on the floor, which there was, BUT that's the smallest amount by comparison - about a dozen beans versus 1/4 cup! I am infinitely grateful! Now for the smell of the rug: yes, it smelled of petroleum when I unrolled it, but I unwrapped it according to the instructions and actually only hung it over the bathtub for a day. Barely any smell the next day but decided to throw over the rail the next day. Bingo, no smell. I put it down, put trays of 20 inch mat in front of the boxes as that was all I had and within an hour both cats were on the mat and using their boxes with no problem. for all. Turns out 20 inches of entry into the boxes was fine! I am very happy with the Mighty Monkey rug and what a relief not having to sweep the garbage so many times a day. Great!
